Free or Not-so-free? That is the question...

Why are the protesters on Wall Street?

The folks who are  getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are
paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free
stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own
stuff.

The folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop,
and the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff
on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff
have told the  people who are RECEIVING the free stuff, that the people
who are PAYING for the free stuff, are being mean, prejudiced, and
racist.

So... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they
need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people
who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff, and giving them
the free stuff in the  first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now
more people  getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this.  All great democracies have committed financial
suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.  The
reason?  The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from
the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the
treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 235 years ago.
The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying
for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that.  In 2012.
Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know
it.

ELECTION 2012 IS COMING

people's money".  --  Margaret Thatcher

**I received this from my Grandmother and thought it a good thing to think on. Now, we as Christians know that the real fix to the problems of society are for individuals to either get saved or get right with God, but great changes can be made if we, as Christians, start paying instead of getting.
Now, I completely understand that things are tight, but if you could bring home enough fresh food to eat on for an entire week for $50 or less depending on the size of your family, would you do it?

See, if we start buying local, we'll have plenty of money to pay for all those other things we want/need instead of getting them "free" and making someone else pay for them.

The cost of food (government subsidized grocery store food) is on the rise because the government is trying to force farmers out of business by enticing society with "freebies", coupons, sales, etc...in the grocery stores. Once they have sufficiently shut down the farmer and gotten society dependent upon their freebies and deals, they will jack the cost up so high that no one will be able to afford anything to eat UNLESS you are willing to become totally government dependent and will promise to do anything they say in exchange for your "food".

Fresh food from local farmers markets are about 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of what is in the store...for example...I bought (this past saturday at the Columbus NC farmers market) 3 heads of cabbage weighing 3 or more pounds each for ONLY $1.00 each!!! Now, where in the world can you even get a teeny tiny cabbage (that was grown in human excrement and sprayed with butane to keep it from rotting on it's 2,000 mile trip from dirt to table) weighing only 1.5 pounds for nearly $4? Not to mention that the "organic" teeny tiny cabbage would cost you upwards of $6 or more dollars?
I also purchased bunches of turnips with about 6-8 turnip heads in each bunch with the greens for only $2.00 a bunch, 12 ears of corn for $4, and the list goes on and on:-) There is also a lady who lives right here in Shelby who is still growing and selling produce and herbs that you can purchase. I buy beautiful large green peppers for .25 cents each every week and they are delicious! Her green bean medley is superb and I can't wait to get some pecans soon!
Oh, the farmers market also offers huge broccoli heads for $1 a head and bushels of potatoes for $12 a bushel....

See, we don't need the government's freebie stuff!! It is affordable to eat and eat well...you just have to be willing to go and get it:-)

A list of local resources....
www.greenefamilyfarm.com  (local family in Shelby offering veggies, herbs, breads, and greens)

www.farmersfreshmarket.org  ( a great resource for bulk foods delivered near your door)

www.c-sawhill.com  (excellent resource for fresh pastured meat and eggs)

Columbus/Tryon Farmers Market located in downtown Columbus, NC that will be open until the week before Thanksgiving. The market is open on Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:30 am

www.hendersonville.coop  ( great resource for bulk grains right in Hendersonville NC) I just purchased 50 lbs of organic rolled oats for only $31.00!! Now, you can't get healthy cereal any cheaper than that!!!

Have a great day and as my dad always says, "Here's to putting a face on the food".....Lauren
