 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us to you! I trust you had a blessed Christmas Season and are anticipating the great things God has for you during this New Year! Even though the political and financial outlook for 2013 seem a bit grim, we know that we can still have JOY in Jesus! EnJOY some photos of our Holiday Season activities!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year for Thanksgiving we continued our new tradition of helping out at the Ronald McDonald house in Winston-Salem. We had a great time preparing the food and then serving it! My Grandmother got to come down to help as well as my cousin, Chris, and his wife, Amy. I have not seen Chris in about 22 years so it was good to catch up and meet his wife. They now live in the Raleigh area of NC, so we're looking forwards to more visits with them! Here's some highlights of the day...

The Friday following Thanksgiving, we got together with Stephen's family and had a great time of fellowship and riding Uncle Tim's fourwheeler! That was a BLAST! I even rode it and just had a great time doing that. Stephen took several pictures on his phone as well, so hopefully I can get him to post those on here too:-)

Silly K...can't ever get that girl to be still long enough to look at the camera!! I guess she was busy driving...see, girls do drive responsibly!! She was keeping her eyes on the "road"...lol!

We had a great time enjoying our family and friends and also enjoyed being able to minister to the people at the RMH. We hope to be able to continue doing that from now on and are so thankful for that privilege! It is hard to believe that Christmas is upon us and we're putting up our tree and decorations tonight after Stephen gets home. Tis the Season for counting your Blessings and for remembering that God is the Giver of those blessings and without Him, we wouldn't have anything to celebrate!

October/November Happenings

Here's some family things that we've done over the last 6 weeks or so!

Took a little time off while Daddy was changing jobs to take a couple of days to enjoy the fall beauty in Asheville NC!

Since it was my birthday, my husband took me to a riding stable and we got to take an hour ride through the mountains...gorgeous and SO much fun!

Some of my nephews and nieces came over to play for a day and we had so much fun!

Audrey's first try at homemade biscuits from scratch! I think somebody tested one...can you tell?;-) These turned out so good that I have officially relinquished the biscuit making to her! They turn out perfect every time she makes them! I'm so proud of her for learning this skill!

Adalyn lost her first front tooth and she is very proud of it:-) And yes, this is her everyday winter wear. I think she has her seasons mixed up. This morning she and Audrey went outside to practice their fire building skills in 25 degree weather, and this is what she wore with her cowboy boots and a jacket. That's it! She said she wasn't cold, so I let her go out:-) I think she takes after a certain sister of mine....I seem to remember someone going out in the snow in shorts, no socks, boots, and a coat....(I won't tell who it was, Rose...;-)

 

 

 

We're getting things started for preparing for our Thanksgiving Day tradition that we started last year and we're looking forwards to ministering to the folks in the Ronald McDonald house again. We enjoyed being able to reach out and be a blessing to those who where there last year, and we can't wait to do it again! I've got 144 dinner rolls, a casserole, pies, and such to get ready between now and Wednesday, but it is a lot of fun and we enjoy being able to spend our time doing something for someone who cannot do for us in return!
